Pupil Leadership
At Oban High School, we are proud to offer our pupils opportunities to develop their leadership skills and play an active role in the school community. Each year, S6 pupils are invited to apply for key leadership roles, including School Captains, Clan Leaders, and Prefects.
The selection process is rigorous, involving both a written application and an interview. Successful candidates are then given the opportunity to participate in an outdoor residential trip to Loch Eil at the start of the school year. This trip focuses on fostering strong relationships and developing essential team-building skills, which are crucial for effective leadership.
In addition to our S6 leaders, each clan benefits from the support of two Junior Leaders from S3. These pupils represent younger years and contribute by helping to organise assemblies and supporting clan activities, ensuring leadership opportunities extend throughout the school.
These roles provide valuable experiences that prepare pupils for future challenges, while also strengthening the sense of community and collaboration that defines Oban High School.
