School funds are monies held by Oban High School that are used to support pupils’ learning experiences, enrichment activities and wider opportunities beyond core local authority funding. This includes funds generated through school activities, events, contributions and approved fundraising.
The Oban High School Fund Committee is responsible for the oversight, governance and appropriate use of these school funds. Operating in line with Argyll & Bute Council guidance, the Committee ensures that all monies are managed transparently, responsibly and in the best interests of the school community.
The Committee is made up of elected staff members, including representatives from the Senior Leadership Team, and meets regularly throughout the session. An annual statement of accounts is produced, and clear records, minutes and independent audits are maintained to ensure strong financial accountability.
The purpose of the School Fund Committee is to support equity, enrichment and opportunity across Oban High School, ensuring that resources are used effectively to enhance pupils’ experiences both in and beyond the classroom.
